Job Summary 

Codal is searching for an independent, results-driven resource manager to assign staff to our projects. You will be determining personnel requirements, providing ongoing support to project managers, and collaborating on resource management with multiple teams within our organization.

To ensure success as a resource manager, you should possess extensive knowledge of resource allocation and the ability to make executive decisions based on staffing. A first-class resource manager will be someone who can accurately assess resource needs and provide sufficient capacity to realize projects' goals. This means the team focuses on day to day demands of current projects, while planning, in parallel, for future capacity needs. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maximize employee utilization in an effort to balance workload across teams and the company
  • Develop strategies and approaches that will make sharing of resources across teams more efficient and effective
  • Work with Project Managers to identify appropriate resource requirements for each project based on skill, location and availability.  
  • Help track timeline and hours for projects to improve a benchmarking and identify trends and rationale for discrepancies
  • Monitor employee utilization, workload, and overtime hours.
  • Monitor project activities and resourcing, identifying potential utilization issues and actively work with teams to address and solve those issues. 
  • Build, maintain, and communicate resource forecasts.
  • Maintain constant knowledge of current and upcoming projects and business development activities as they relate to resourcing.
  • Work with HR they need to work together closely in order to hire appropriate people and define their roles 
  • Evaluate staffing needs and trends to identify areas where better project scoping or client planning is required 
  • Manage ad hoc requests, should they arise, with a solution-oriented and business-minded approach

Requirements

  • 3-5 years resource management or project management experience in software solutions industry. 
  • Must have an understanding of software development and design 
  • Experience using Tempo Planning and Professional Services Automation (PSA) tool to manage projects and resources
  • Takes initiative and ownership, can exercise independent judgment and collaborate across lines of business, regions and internal functions to meet or exceed expectations.
  • Assertive conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Requires managing resources globally, so must be able to work outside normal local work hours
  • Clear and concise communication in both written and verbal form.
  • Ability to be diplomatic or firm when necessary in order to drive business forward 
  • Background in adoption of new systems and processes beneficial.
